Such a treat for Easter is baked in Italy and Greece. It turns out airy, soft and moderately sweet.

Instructions

1. Mix warm milk with yeast and a teaspoon of sugar. Leave on for 10-15 minutes.
2. Combine the remaining sugar with flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and two eggs, beat with a mixer at low speed.
3. Continue beating on medium speed and add a tablespoon of softened butter at a time. You will have a soft dough.
4. Put the dough in a bowl greased with vegetable oil, cover with cling film and leave warm for an hour and a half.
5. Divide the dough into three parts and form each into a bundle about 40 cm long. Interlace the bundles together.
6. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet and pinch the ends together to form a ring.
7. Lay a few colored eggs on the dough, lightly oiled on the side where they come into contact with the dough.
8. Brush the top of the bread with beaten egg.
9. Bake Easter bread for about 30 minutes at 180°C.
